THE fourth round of the YMSA 2007 Trials Championship, The Tim Hall Memorial Trial, was held last Sunday at Burrycliffe Quarry, near Elton, North Derbyshire.

The venue is new to the YMSA and considerable work was required toprepare for the event and, after the recent rainfall, the riders weregreeted by better weather and so conditions were set for a good day.

Using the usual YMSA format, over 70 riders contested the trial, where almost all the sections consisted of steep climbs and rock stepswith sections four and six involving some very tricky loose rocks whichrequired a steady right hand to avoid losing traction.

In Youth A class, Jack Challoner continued his winning ways andtotally dominated the opposition, losing just 32 marks in what turnedout to be a very testing trial.

Ben Morphett and Adam Jones fought a close duel for second placewhich Ben took on 64 with Adam close behind on 69. Adam's consolationwas that he was the only A class rider to clean section seven.
