Ch-ch-ch-changes!

MEMBERS of the West Devon club spent a few days at the Brampton circuit in Cumbria, host for the seventh round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship, last week to implement track changes ahead of the big event, scheduled for August 12.
The picture shows work being carried out on a new first corner which instead of the old, scary left hand bend, now turns right and goes across the track to join the main track at the old fourth bend.
Clerk of the course, Brian Higgins, commented, ''The basic layout of the circuit is excellent for riders and spectators but it my opinion the old start was too fast. We have moved tons of earth to create a slower first bend which now turns 90 degrees.''
The event marks the first time in a number of years that the British championship has ventured to the North West and Brampton looks set to lay-on a superb venue for the penultimate round of the 2007 series which has been one of the closest-fought in many years.
Full details of the event can be found on the British Championship website www.mxgb.org
