NEW McAdoo Kawasaki signing for the 2009 season, Conor Cummins, has left the tarmac and strayed onto mud even before his first race for the Kawasaki Motors UK officially supported road-race team. Fans needn't worry though, as Conor (pictured right) now has a brand new 2009 Kawasaki KX450F motocross machine to practice on. The former Isle of Man Schoolboy Champion obviously knows his way round a motocross bike having started on a 50cc garden bike at the tender age of four.
Showing early signs for a Kawasaki preference, Conor then moved up to a KX60, a machine on which many a champion has learned their craft, before hanging up his muddy boots to concentrate on road-racing.
The lure of mud and motocross was always with the Manxman though, and in 2003 he bought a Kawasaki KX250 to practice on in his late teens.
Now Conor is on his third and, according to him, best-ever Kawasaki, the mighty KX450F four-stroke.
It is easily the fastest and most powerful motocross bike I have ever ridden, enthused Conor. I am glad to say that it also handles like a dream. Harnessing all that grunt is a chassis and suspension package that is nigh on perfect right from the crate.
