ALEXZ Wigg and Jack Challoner accepted an invitation to ride in an Indoor trial in Stockholme, Sweden, last week and Alexz (pictured) came away 1200 Euro better-off after winning the event which was staged over several days with qualifying taking place on Saturday and the final on Sunday. Jack finished third. The Beta boys were both riding borrowed EVOs but were put under pressure by promising young Swede Fredrik Johansson who was riding his older REV3 model.
Johansson was actually leading the final, which was attended by over 1000 spectators but an unexpected crash knocked him off the top spot. Challoner then had a spot of bother with his borrowed bike when the engine went sick in a section when it started spluttering.
All of which left Alexz in the lead and he gratefully took his chance to grab the money which in current exchange rates translates to over a Grand...Not a bad weekend!
RESULTS: 1 Alex Wigg (Beta) 6, 2 Fredrik Johansson (Beta) 10, 3 Jack Challoner (Beta) 10. (Tie-break on time).
