CRAIG Seward's Scorpa SY250 is absolutely bloody gorgeous! And it isn't the result of just throwing a load of money at a brand new bike. Believe it or not, this is teenager Craig's 2006 two-stroke that has had a full season of abuse – including a debut finish for the lad in the super-tough Scott Trial!
After the Scott though, Craig decided that he wanted to freshen up his pride and joy so he handed the bike to big brother Kev, who runs the workshop at Birkett Motosport.
Deciding that something completely different was required Kev stripped the SY right out and shipped the frame off for chrome plating. Willow, of St Helens, did a super job on the frame, including acid-dipping before plating.
The engine was stripped and upated to 2007 spec, rebuilt and buffed-up. It was then fitted into the shiny new frame and a complete 2007 exhaust added.
All additional parts were then either replaced or buffed-up into better-than-new condition as the bike was carefully rebuilt into its new guise.
The white plastics really make this Scorpa stand out and the tank was prepped and painted by Robert Dobson. Decals were then applied to the tank and the new white mudguards and Bob then applied lacquer for that super-shiny showtime look that makes Craig's Scorpa really stand-out in any crowd.
Extra Bling! has been applied including the carbon-fibre goodies that you can see, plus a final polish before the machine was wheeled-out for the T+MX camera.
T+MX has forwarded pics of the beauty to the Scorpa factory – any bets on a chrome/ white replica SY250 for 2008...?
