Colunists

THE month of May see's WOR Events return to two of its old favourite stomping grounds.Next weekend, May 9/10, the club returns to the Cwm Cannol venue, situated on the A5 in between Llangollen and Corwen. This site has not been used for over four-years and is one of the old style tracks that helped kick WOR off in the Hare and Hounds scene some years ago.
The venue offers some great climbs and flowing open land which link the wooded sections that run alongside the stream and the course at Cwm Cannol always offers riders of all abilities an interesting
challenge.
With a real Hare and Hounds feel to the mountain-based course, a ride time of between ten to 15 minutes will be the order of the day.
As has become the WOR norm, Saturday will be a popular Race Experience Day, which offers quality bike time, riding tips and a one-hour timed session for newcomers to find their feet in the sport. This session also caters for seasoned riders who are looking for an opportunity to practice and hone their skills.
The action takes place from 10am through till 4pm. Please note that places are usually snapped up
pretty quickly.
On Sunday, May 10, the main action features the fifth round of WOR's domestic club championship, the Off-Road Premiership.
This series has been a big success to date this year and a really good atmosphere surrounds the events with sensible numbers in attendance.
The race on Sunday caters for all solo classes and incorporates both a two-hour race and a three-hour race for the top classes.
The Sunday will also incorporate the second round of the Junior Off-Road Championship on a smaller, but equally fun, circuit constructed for the smaller riders.
The Junior race kicks off at 10am and runs for 1.5-hours, with the adults taking to the line for a 12 noon start.
Entries are available by visiting the website www.worevents.com and entering online (the preferred method), though telephone entries can be obtained on 07944-378432 between 12pm and 6pm, on the Monday to Friday of race week.
WOR Events then move over to another tried and trusted venue in North Wales for the action on May 23/24, where the same format and the sixth round of the Off-Road Premiership takes place. More details on this second event in May will be available on the club's website and in T+MX in the next few weeks.
Some hot news is that the organisation will be running a traditional Time Card' Enduro in the very near future with a forest based-event and some good old-fashioned grass field special tests. More details soon.
