JAMES Dabill has certainly created a stir with his surprise move from the TTT Beta team to the TRW Montesa squad, but according to James' business manager Jake Miller it was the only realistic option for James to continue as a professional trials rider.

Said Jake, "This is a tremendous opportunity for James, the TRW set-up is huge and it is enthusiastic and it will allow him to really make his mark on the International trials scene.

"James is eternally grateful to Beta and to the TTT squad for having faith in him and for giving him the opportunity to show his potential but at the end of the day you have to earn a living too and the TRW deal removes the constant worry of funding his trials career.”

And James will have some very impressive kit under him when he turns out for TRW Montesa. Former World Championship regular Diego Bosis, with over 200 World Championship starts under his belt, developed a potent 270cc model during 2006 and for 2007 T+MX understands that there will be an even more powerful engine available with as much as 300cc. TRW is a huge engineering group with state-of-the-art facilities at its disposal and the engines will be custom-built, featuring all-new cylinders. The bikes are expected to give the full factory Repsol-Montesa's a run for their money!
