FOR round six of the British Youth winter championships, Tom Arnold took the show on the road, this time to Stipers Hill Polesworth.
After two successive nights of heavy rain the course was sticky in places, but after the first block of racing had shifted the mucky stuff, riders were set fair for a great day's racing.
Danny Blakeley showed everyone a clean pair of heels in the Adult Open section and looked a class apart as he blasted to three untroubled race wins. Micheal Stock put in three solid performances for second overall, with Steve Royal in third.
The 250F section provided some great action with Luke Meredith, Lewis King, Dean Haughton and James Lassu all on top form, together with Nathan Rookes who again stepped up a class and took a superb last race second.
Race one saw Luke Meredith romp home in first place as he did in race two from Dean Haughton now looking back to something like his best on the Honda.
James Lassu stepped up to the plate in race three coming from the back to win as unlucky Lewis King shed a chain when seemingly having the race in the bag.
Ben Mycock took an excellent overall win in the Youth 125cc class with three second placings. Jamie Jackson with two race wins was desperately unlucky to only finish third overall as he plugged the KTM in the mud in race one dropping vital points.
Charlie Evans took the other race win and finished in second place overall.
It was a well deserved win for Josh Spinks in the Big-wheel 85cc section as he fought off the combined efforts of Ewan McClaren, Christian Taylor and the Honda 150cc four-stroke cavalry led by Jake Preston and Luke Hawkins.
Josh, on the two-stroke KTM, never really looked like being beaten all day. Having said that it was a good performance from Jake Preston in race three to catch and overhaul Chris Taylor for second place. Chris suffered mechanical troubles during the day, hence being out of the overall top six.
Scott Aldridge, totally in a class and a race of his own at times, took a clean sweep of wins in the red plate section (Small-wheel 85cc). Good performances also from Jack Timms in second and Thomas Kirk in third.
The Junior 65s saw another hat trick of wins for Corrie Southwood as he made light of the sticky conditions and impressed all day with his skill and speed. Curtis Blamey likewise totally at home in the difficult conditions posted second overall.
