In his first attempt at racing under the lights, Giles Davis has won the British Quad Supercross Championship for the 2009/10 season.

Davis, with a win and a second at the first two Birmingham rounds, followed up with a fourth place at Liverpool. With a small points lead going into the final round at the O2 Arena in London, an uneventful and safe finish was all that was required. In front of a packed arena, a safe second place finish secured the championship.

My starts definitely helped out a lot. It's pretty tight out there on the artificial SX tracks with a quad, and so getting out front at the start was important.

I'd like to thank Paul Winrow for all his help throughout 2009 which set me up for winning this title and I wish him all the best for the future with KTM.''

The next race for the Gloucestershire based rider is the first round of the British QX Championship at Desertmartin in May.

Giles is pictured right riding his way to the title at the O2 Arena at the weekend.
