North Derbyshire Youth MCC held their Presentation of Awards for 2008 at the Rock Social Club in Peak Dale, near Buxton, where some 75 riders with families attended, including Harvey Lloyd, vice chairman of Manchester 17 MCC, with whom the club is closely associated presenting awards. The Perpetual Trophies went to Jack Thompson for the Bumble Cup and Luke Walker for the Millennium Cup, whilst the Allsop and Lee Cups went to Thomas Stewart.
Mick Boam received the Tom Andrews Trophy as the top Adult Rider in the Bumble Cup Trial. Tom was an enthusiastic supporter of the Club, organising many Trials for the Club at Burycliffe Quarry in the eighties. Mick who received this Cup, now riding in the Senior Classes, has lost none of his skills that he acquired as a teenager during Tom's days.
Even though the Club is regarded as Youth orientated, Adults, some of whom seem to feel they are excluded, are definitely welcome and the trials sections are set with them in mind as well as the Youths.
