At 2pm on the Saturday the Youth and Ladies races. On Sunday, two races were staged. Despite all the heavy rain over the weekend, the Ellington terrain stood up well. Although there was a lot of water on the surface, the ground never turns boggy at the venue.
Saturday saw a good turn out for the Youth and Ladies classes, and at 2pm starter Paddy Langan set the race in motion.
The Senior B group lead the field away. In the front pack were Harrison Bell, Scott Altass and Davey Todd.
It wasn't long before Todd was at the front. Harrison Bell and Michael Tatham were well up with the leaders, in their first race in the Senior B group.
However, Todd kept extending his advantage and eventually won with a clear margin from Scott Altass with Harrison Bell third.
In the Ladies class, Jane Daniels was the clear winner with Gina Bewlay second and Anita Gordon third.
Michael Gilby headed the Junior class with Ryan Cheal second and Dan Bewlay third.
The rain lashed down through Saturday evening and into Sunday morning, leaving parts of the course under standing water. The lagoon section' had risen by a foot overnight, but this wasn't likely to be to be a problem.
There was a full entry ready on the start line and at 11.30am, the race got underway with Dirty Harry Hillas, Anthony Aryton, Danny Blakeley, Gary Daniels and Josh Bendell all trying for the win
Through the early stages Harry Hillas was the clear leader but, as the riders became coated in mud from head to toe, it was hard to distinguish them. Only with the aid of the transponder system did anyone know what was going on.
