Docklands 100 Ride-a-Thon...

THE Docklands 100 Ride-a-Thon at London's Track KG5 took place 12 months ago, and plans are under way to hold the third edition on Sunday, July 12, at Track KG5. Docklands Riders have hosted the Ride-a-Thon since 2007 when they first took possession of the overgrown track and each year since then they have hosted the event for club members and adult riders alike.
Docklands Riders co-founder Dylan Evans said "The ride-a-thon has been a brilliant success for us, back in 2007 we used it as a way of clearing all the undergrowth from the track after almost a year of it not being used, it's getting to be a bit of a tradition now though and we look forward to seeing our club members and supporters again.
Since last year's event Docklands Riders have built an entire enduro-cross circuit around the perimeter of the motocross track, fellow co-founder Chris Salt constructed the course having competed in several extreme enduro races across the UK and Europe and it will feature in the Ride-a-Thon for the first time.
With categories for riders of all ages and abilities the aim of the event is for riders to complete 100 laps (50-laps for junior members) of the motocross track or 50-laps of the 50/50 circuit which incorporates half of the motocross track and half of the enduro-cross circuit.
It promises to be a fun-packed day with a barbecue, refreshments, prizes for the most money raised and certificates for everyone that takes part.
There will also be a simple trials competition for Junior and Youth riders and a timed enduro-cross trial for the adults. Spaces are limited, so if you want to take part please get in touch.
All money raised will be used to maintain the track and refurbish the changing rooms. The organisers would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing you all there.
