ALTHOUGH apprehensive as to how the newly built track would withstand the battering from riders after a week of torrential rain, all fears were soon put to rest as the course for Docklands Riders first Extreme Enduro Cross practice day held up well as riders of all abilities gradually conquered their fears and the obstacles one by one until they found a level that pushed them to their limits. The sun shone all day, drying out the wooden structures which really helped give riders the confidence to try things on a dirtbike they may never have done before.
Muddy conditions proved very challenging and getting up and over the monster dumper-truck tyres provided lots of spectacular action.
Lap times varied from anything between four to ten minutes but two or three consecutive laps were enough to leave riders, from Sportsman to Expert, gasping for breath and ready to stop.
Docklands Riders would like to thank all the riders who supported the event, and is please that everyone had such a good time.
To all those that missed it unlucky, better book in early for the next day, scheduled for sometime in January 2009. Better still e-mail info@docklandsriders.org.uk expressing your interest and you will be put on the mailing list for future events. A maximum of 20-spaces are available per day.
