FOR the second year running the CH Racing Husqvarna team will be entering fresh new talent into the WEC, having recently announced that another former Grand Prix motocross racer will be joining the team for 2009.Matti Seistola, a former World MX2 Championship rider, is the latest recruit to the Husky team where he will join Antoine Meo, who made the switch from motocross to enduro at the start of this year. Matti is fast, commented CH Racing Husqvarna team manager, Fabrizio Azzalin, But he has to learn enduro. He is a serious, professional motocross rider, he is young, he is Finnish, and he has everything that he needs to do well. We hope that he can finish around fifth or sixth in the Enduro 2 class on the 450.
Also new to the WEC series for Husqvarna is Italian youngster, Jonathan Manzi, who will race a 125cc machine in the Enduro Junior class.
Performing well in the Enduro 2 class this season, Antoine Meo will move to E1 for 2009 and he will compete on a 250cc four-stroke. Looking to improve his results from this season, the Frenchman hopes to be a real title threat to the likes of Ahola and Albergoni. Alongside Meo, Husqvarna will support Marc Bourgeois, who will also compete on a 250cc four-stroke.
With Meo moving to E1, Poland's Bartosz Oblucki will upgrade to the Enduro 2 class where he will compete on a 250cc two-stroke. In E3, Seb Guillaume will again lead Husqvarna's effort in the hope of securing his first WEC title. Sticking with the 300cc two-stroke, Seb will be the team's only E3 competitor.
We hope that Antoine can regularly finish on the podium next year,
explained Fabrizio, Although he wants to be winning races. Oblucki will compete alongside Seistola, but on a 250cc two-stroke. He rode well on the 300cc two-stoke at the ISDE so we hope it will be a good change for him.
Seb will race with the 300 again in 2009, but we know he will have some strong competition. If he can race like he did during the second half of this year then he has a very real chance of winning the World E3 title.
