THE sixth round of the QRA Endurance series is at Llangrove, Herefordshire, this Sunday and one man who can not be overlooked is Clint Eagle (pictured), the reigning QRA Over 40 champion and a rider with tremendous ability and determination. Eagle will be out on his home-built KTM TRX 540, the machine born out of a TRX450 chassis with a KTM 540 power-plant built with the help and support of Bel-Ray, Custom Speed, Mike Wheeler, Trevor Pope, AB Fabrications and S Welding Oxford.
Clint will be one of the front runners when he lines up on the Pro grid with the likes of Paul Winrow (Winrow Honda) on 225 points, Steve Atkins (MKM Rocketman Suzuki) on 208 and Chris Cook (Winrow Honda) on 202.
With ATV World's Martin Benbow on 176 snapping at their heels, no-one can rest. KIK Honda rider, John Robson, KTM Quad Magazine's David Baldwin, Winrow Honda's Caine Hinder, Redline KTM's Matt James are in Eagle's way in the points table, but not by much and maybe not for long.
The other four classes in the series are set for some first class action as the 2008 season heads towards the awards night on November 29.
MKM Suzuki young gun, Lewis Hill, has a comfortable, but not clear lead, on 202 points in the Expert class ahead of Paul Hanham 189 points, Richard Bradford on 186 points and Darran Bridge on 184 points.
Clubman/ lady class leader, Nathan Palmer on his Palmer Racing KTM is enjoying a consistent season, but has to keep an eye on Martin Evison on his Megs 6th Sense Motor Sport Yamaha. Clyde Thompson has muscled his Bournefun Honda into third spot by one point ahead of QRA first lady Beverley Barnes on her Mike Pryce Machinery CMX 450 Suzuki.
MKM Rocketman Suzuki's Liam Ryland leads the way in the Stock class, having won the last four rounds. However Gary Bowen on his Mike Pryce Machinery Suzuki is only 15-points adrift.
Stephen Williams is romping away with the Can Am 4x4 Utility class. Unbeaten so far this season on his Team Adrenalin Can Am Renegade 800, he is leaving Neil Martin to battle his Yamaha Grizzly 700 with Jon Morgan's Mowerman Racing Can Am.
As ever, Support riders are welcome and the course will have a mix of terrain – open, wooded, ups and downs, something for everyone and three-hours of fun with some of the best riders in the country for company to learn from.
Entries are available by contacting Gaynor Nash on 01264-354259 or 07979-300084.
The start is just off the A40 road between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth on Sunday, September 7, with the grids heading off at 11am for the three-hour bash.
