JEREMIE Warnia, current European champion and one of the worlds biggest quad racing stars, is to race in the UK this year.
The 26-year-old French star is scheduled to make his first appearance at the NORA-MX championship round at Grittenham on March 30. He will then also ride in three rounds of the ACU British championship.
Warnia, who has twice won the European crown, as well as multiple French titles and a WORCS title in the USA, will ride a Yamaha backed by leading tyre firm DWT.
As part of the deal DWT is also reintroducing its "cash for results” contingency programme for all riders using new DWT tyres in the NORA-MX and British championships. Full details will be released soon.
Warnia's entry into the British championship is the latest in a series of measures introduced by NORA-MX to help improve the British championship. The club has taken over the promotion of the series on behalf of the ACU.
Meanwhile, entries are already open for the Grittenham (SN15 4JW) event, which will include round two of the NORA Expert, Under-23, Clubman, Rookie, Masters, 250, 100 and 50 championships, as well as the first round of the EVO and Fun Cups. The Masters and 250 races also carry British championshipships status at this event.
