FatCat's got the cream

If you're looking for a pre-Christmas dirt-bike blowout then we've got just the event for you, because on December 5 at FatCat Moto Parc we'll be bringing you the FatCat Grand Prix with our event partners DirtBike-Traxs and, of course, FatCat Moto Parc.
Big changes are afoot at FatCat and that means that the original practice and race tracks are being replaced by a whole new state-of-the-art motorsports facility that'll be situated just 500-yards away from the present location and still accessible from Junction 4 of the M18 in sunny South Yorkshire.
With that in mind you should know that the FatCat Grand Prix will be your last chance to ride on the old tracks before they're flattened for good. A 15-minute Hare and Hound-style lap is planned for this event that will take in all the best parts of the old practice, race, kids, supercross, sprint enduro and enduro-cross circuits plus there'll be a whole lot more FatCat flavoured goodness that you won't want to miss out on riding.
"The course for the Grand Prix is going to be mega,” explains FatCat facility owner, Martin Craven, who'll be plotting the course alongside Pete and Jordan Botchett from DirtBike-Traxs.
"We've always dreamed of being able to link all the tracks together to make one massive course here, but it's never been possible – until now.
"It's sad that this will be the last time that the original FatCat can be used but I'm pumped that our last day in the dirt is going to be so amazing – I really can't wait!”
There will be two races at the FatCat Grand Prix. The first is a 90-minute Kids race for eight to 14-year-olds, which starts at 9am. Then, at 11am, there's the Main Event which is a four-hour Hare Scramble for Ironman and two-man team competitors. There'll be awards for the top three overall finishers in each class – 65cc and 85cc in the kids race and Expert, Over 40, Clubman, Sportsman and Youth Open in the main event – as well as holeshot prizes.
As you probably already know there's always plenty of free camping at FatCat Moto Parc and as one of the best all-weather venues in the UK you can be guaranteed a great ride on December 5 – no matter what the weather.
