THE 2007 British QuadX Championship was one of the closest on record as it went down to the final race of the last round to decide the winner and that turned out to be ATV World's John Mitchell on a 450 Yamaha.
Multiple-champion Paul Winrow on his Interlock Lonestar Honda was second, just 17-points behind the winner, while Dutch import, Joe Maessen on a Mercuria Yamaha was third.

ROUND ONE
THE opening round staged in the valley of Whiteway Barton and Maessen was the first winner of the year.
The Dutchman lead the large pack into turn one of the first quad race of 2007, with his team-mate, Leon Beda, second while Stefan Murphy's Anderson ATV Suzuki ended the wrong way up against the fencing.
Winrow too was in the wars, as he hit some tyres marking the edge of the track while avoiding Mitchell. Then latter in the race, he hit a straw bail and stalled his Honda again eventually failing to score points.
Maessen took the win by just over six-seconds from Tordoff, with MacBeth snatching third from Beda on the final lap.
A revitalised Lindsey Duke grabbed the holeshot at the start of the second race of the day, with Maessen in close pursuit.
These two riders just went for it and for the duration were never more then a few feet apart. This kept the crowd watching their every move in case one or the other made a mistake.
Duke managed to hold off Maessen and take the win by just two one-hundredths of a second, with Willie Waggott a distant third and MacBeth fourth.
