SX wild boys plan Dock ‘n' roll party

THE Future West ACU British Supercross Championship moves into new territory this Friday and Saturday, January 25/26, as the second and third rounds of the series head inside Liverpool's new Echo Arena on the city's famous Albert Dock.
And those packed inside the ultra-modern, brand-new venue to witness the action will be sure to be treated to another cracking pair of nights' racing as the championship contenders and wildcards resume battle after the series' opening Sheffield SX back in November.
The sizeable floor space inside the Echo Arena should result in a good, technical track for the riders to showcase their skills - and an impressive, and on paper at least, fairly closely matched line-up has been assembled to do battle in front of the fans.
Topping the list is British MX2 champion, recent Sheffield runner-up and King of Dortmund, Mike Brown, on the CAS Honda.
The veteran will start as favourite to take the win, but he will have to ride well to take the victory as super-fast Canadians Colton Facciotti and Jean Sebastian Roy are both crossing the Atlantic again to compete. They will be joined by Canadian Arenacross champ Lee Coots and Chris Foster too in a four-pronged Cannuck attack.
It is the British-based riders who could pose the biggest threat to Brown, though, not least new MVR-D Suzuki signing Carl Nunn
After signing for Mark Chamberlain's squad over the winter, Nunny will be out on his new mount for the first time at Liverpool, and he is a natural indoors.
Fellow Suzuki man Lewis Gregory had a good showing at Sheffield, but he will no doubt be looking for more and will also be a threat, as could be Neville Bradshaw who is back from an injury-plagued 07 season and out on his privately backed Honda mount for the first time.
Further adding to the international flavour on the night will be Spanish supercross champ Xavier Hernandez, American Doug DeHaan, South African champ David Goosen, as well as British supercross regulars Ashley Greedy and Ryan Voase. It is not just the Pro class ranks that will be thrilling the crowds though, as a full complement of Youth and Amateur classes will take to the track each night also. The Echo Arena is conveniently situated on the world famous Albert Docks tourist attraction and is only a few minutes from Liverpool city centre's rail, bus, and ferry links and a short ride from the John Lennon Airport.
If you are driving to the venue it has its own multi-storey car park right outside the front door of the arena.
Doors open at 6pm each night with the show getting underway at 7pm and for last-minute tickets contact the Echo Arena box office on 08448-000400.
