AFTER 36 hours of torrential rain which started on Friday at 5pm, the Ellington Banks track, at Ripon, was wetter than the last event in November.
The DirtBike-Traxs crew had made extensive changes and modification to the course to accommodate quads and it paid off. The course was much easier and more enjoyable to ride.
A small entry of 25 quads lined up for the 9am start. The bulk of the entry were mounted on 4x4 machines with a small complement of sports quads.
The riders were flagged away and Kevin Dawson took an early lead on his 650 Kawasaki but John Robson, on a Suzuki 4x4 passed Dawson on lap two.
As the race moved in to the later stages, Dawson passed Robson to retake the lead and Andy Mitchell also passed Robson to move into second place.
Dawson claimed the 4x4 class win from Andy Mitchell with John Robson third
Gavin Sharpe had a great ride to win the Sports class with Jonny Harper second and Michael Robinson third.
DirtBike-Traxs moves to Derbyshire and Butts Quarry for the weekend of December 28. This venue is based on a motocross track and should provide the quads with an enjoyable day out.
