Germany roars in at the double
By TMX Archives on 5th Apr 11
The final link in the MX1/MX2 GP calendar has been filled.
Riding the wave of hype surrounding Ken Roczen and Max Nagl, Germany will have a second GP this year with the penultimate round of the series at Gaildorf on September 3/4!
The replacement MX1/ MX2 venue in Spain on June 18/19 has now also been confirmed as La Baneza in the north-west of the country.
The track, right on the edge of the small town, was scheduled to host the MX3 finale in September, but that date is now open, as is the July 31 date caused by the withdrawal of Schwedt in Germany.
The South American MX3 tour has been reduced to two races with Brazil taking over the date initially allocated to Chile.
Gaildorf hosted GPs and several MX des Nations contests from the 1970s, up until a few years ago when it withdrew after several years of poor attendances.
Now, on the wave of hype surrounding Roczen and Nagl, the organising club hope for a revival of spectator interest.
