Graham's on Vue for the World Trial

THE team behind the Lloyd Motors (Carlisle) sponsored Trial Grand Prix of Great Britain, which represents the third round of the 2009 SPEA FIM Trials World Championship, which will run on the rapidly approaching weekend of May 16/17, is delighted that the course-building activity for the event is now virtually complete.
Designed by co-promoter, multiple British Trials Champion and SSDT winner Graham Jarvis, the course in the compact sandstone quarry at Nord Vue, Armathwaite, near Carlisle, Cumbria, comprises a variety of sections designed to test the skills of the World's best riders to the full.
Graham and heavy plant operator, Keswick Plant's Neil Wilson, have been creating and modifying the World Championship sections until the obstacles are to their satisfaction. The natural terrain has been complemented by the addition of many large, quarried boulders and stone slabs and awesome steps, drops and jumps are combined with technical rock outcrops and natural contours which is set to provide excellent entertainment.
The venue, new for major trials, was given a test-run last year when the reborn British Experts was run and the organisers got a really good idea from that event just what they had to do to to up the section difficulty to World Championship standard. Graham is now confident that this has been achieved.
Thanks to no fewer than four spectacular showcase sections, newly created in the main quarry area, spectators will get a close-up view of the World Championship contenders' skills over the weekend. And ramped viewing areas have been created to ensure good viewing for all and no section is further than 500 metres from the main start area. And thanks to Stobarts of Carlisle there will be a huge truck-mounted tv screen onto which will be beamed images sent by a roving cameraman.
The organising team is now on-site every day, ensuring that the entire site is all ready to exceed the expectations of riders and fans alike and a great weekend is in prospect.
The venue is only minutes from the M6, you can camp on site or there are hotels, pubs and guest houses within easy reach. This is your chance this year to see the top trials riders in the world including reigning world champion Toni Bou on the fabulous Repsol Montesa and Adam Raga on his factory Gas Gas. Add in top Brits headed by Beta EVO mounted Dougie Lampkin, a fired-up James Dabill back on a two-stroke Gas Gas and Michael Brown on his factory Sherco and there's plenty of reasons to snap-up your ticket.
Then there's Alexz Wigg, currently leading the World Junior class and Jonathan Richardson doing a similar job in the World Youths and your weekend's spectating will keep you pretty busy.
