LOOK OUT Sheffield, there will be a Croc in the pool at the opening round of the Indoor Enduro World Cup slated for Sheffield Arena on Saturday, October 31. Ulster's own Crockstar, Gordon Crockard is the latest star rider to confirm for this ground breaking World Championship event which will feature a pool, huge tyres, rocks, logs, and tons of soil. This event will be the first of its kind to be held in the UK. After Sheffield, the series will have two stops in Spain, one in Italy and one in Mexico where the World Champion is crowned. Crockard, multi-time British MX champ, former GP star and runner-up in last season's British Supercross Championship will be lining up at Sheffield against some impressive world class talent from around the globe and of all forms off road competition including American MX stalwart Mike Brown.
Brown and Crockstar will add some high-flying Supercross flavor to the event. Both Brown and Crockard honed their skills in Motocross and Supercross and are regular contenders in the British Supercross Championship where Brown will be defending his SX1 and SX2 titles later this year. Crockard will be going all out to gain the British Supercross title that he so narrowly lost to his good friend Carl Nunn at the final round at The O2 arena in London last January.
Both Crockard and Brown are no strangers to the Enduro scene. In recent years Crockard competed in the American GNCC series with Brown currently leading the US WORCS series. Brown also recently took third to Taddy Blazusiak in the main at the opening round of the US Endurocross series in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Blazusiak will also be competing at Sheffield.
Confirmed riders to date include: David Knight (UK), Taddy Blazusiak (Poland), Mike Brown (USA), Gordon Crockard (NI), Ivan Cervantes (Es), Antopine Meo (F), Doug Lampkin (GB), Graham Jarvis (GB).
Tickets for this talent laden night of non stop action are available through the Sheffield Arena box office on 0114-2565656.
