FOLLOWING another successful season which marked an increase in entries and more new venues introduced, it was time for the Midwest MCC to hand over the very-hard earned silverware, prize-money and product vouchers to riders who had contested the 2008 Hewitt National XC series on Saturday evening. Once again the superb Alexandra House at Wroughton, near Swindon, was the location for the end of season bash.
Taking the top Expert award was Midwest Racing-supported Husaberg rider, Darren Wheeler, who snatched the title by just a single point ahead of Gary Baker.
Making it a Midwest Racing Husaberg double, Tyson Maytom-Jones made a mad dash back from Wales after competing, and completing, the ‘Tough One' Extreme Enduro to pick up his Clubman 4T winners trophy.
Other winners present to pick up their silverware on the evening were Alastair Bramwell, Ben Roberts, Guy Mansfield-Smith, Paul Jones and John Bradley.
Midwest MCC would finally like to thank its generous sponsors, Hewitt International Salvage Management, Scott, Pirelli, Putoline Lubricants, OnFire, Smith Optics, SixSixOne, FMF Racing, AJP and, of course, all of the riders who entered their events.
Looking ahead to the new season, Midwest MCC have already yet more new venues earmarked and entries are rolling in fast for the new series which is due to kick-off on Sunday, February 15.
