British quad racing stars Paul Holmes and Carl Bunce take on the lead role of flying the flag against a strong line-up of mainland Europe based sand-race specialists, at this weekends free to watch Monarch of Margate Beach-cross at the Kent seaside resort.

There will be a new track layout and plenty of fun and entertainment for riders and spectators alike.

The course, which is set out above the tide line, produces European style sandy beach racing, needing little more than an air-line to clean the machines after six races apiece over the weekend.

The event has two sides to it.

First there's the stand-alone ‘Monarch of Margate' event title in all classes – Elite Youth Quad, Adult Open Quad and Adult Solo Open – which also incorporates rounds one and two of the MC Federation-sanctioned British Beach Cross Championship.

In addition to the all-out racing there is also a special feature/ challenge during the event between ‘Hinge and Bracket' two quad riders who via Facebook have been having a tongue-in-cheek war of words, which will be settled at the weekend in a series of ‘fun' challenges, both land and beach based.

The two are also known as local rider Karl Pilcher – who started out as a marshal at the first Margate event and is now a racer – and Manchester-based Mark Walsh.

The event carries lots of additional features, with the town of Margate itself as the backdrop and the Monster Energy truck and girls adding a boost of energy and glamour.

Thanks go to Thanet District Council, Ovendon Plant and TBN for supporting the event again this year.
