Honda Turn for Jason
By TMX Archives on 1st Jun 07

LAST week we printed a teaser shot of this fabulous bike and named it the Mystery Machine, which has got to be the trickest-looking non-factory trials bike we have seen yet and this week we reveal its secrets!
Jason Turner, a well-known Yorkshire centre trials rider from way back, has built himself a fabulous 4RT which he has turned-out in Honda RTL colours, which is how the 4RT is marketed in Japan.
The short story is that Jason attended the Barcelona Indoor trial this year and was so inspired by Toni Bou's performance on the four-stroke Repsol Montesa that he vowed to return home and build one to his own spec.
Having settled on the idea of building a Japanese Honda version, Jason bought a standard UK spec Montesa 4RT - and logged-on to the Internet to do a spot of searching!
The end result of Jason's research and consequent buying session, was a pile of trick parts that were assembled at a cost of 3,500 to which has to be added the cost of the stock Mont. The full list is attached to this article and as well as a shipload of stuff from Japan there's some Italian input and quite a bit from good old Britain - which is nice.
