WITH Alex Rockwell out injured following his heavy crash at the previous round at Brampton, the expected three-way battle for the inaugrual MXY2 crown came down to a straight shootout between series leader Lewis King and Ireland's Graeme Irwin at Saturday's final championship round at Pontrilas. Graeme came into the event still carrying apainful thumb injury and got off to the worst possible start as he gottangled up in a first lap melee which left him at the back of the packas fastest qualifier Ben Field, who's been in superb late season form,tore away
from the chasers to open up an impressive gap at the front.
As Graeme got his challenge underway, Lewis hadworked his way through to a best position of sixth place, but it wasMel Poccok ripping up the ground from mid-pack who caught the eye as hecarved his way through in spectacular fashion.
