THE stunning hillside track at St Harmon, just outside Rhayader, Mid-Wales, will reverberate to the sound of motocross bikes THIS coming Wednesday evening, May 27, when the long awaited first round of the PAR Homes/ Baches Bargains-sponsored Welsh Open Motocross Championship takes place.

And there's a brilliant national class entry taking part, led by James Noble and Wayne Smith. Also staring in this fantastic line up are Jamie Lewis, Scott Elderfield and Relentless Suzuki teamsters Martin Barr, Scott Columb, Jamie Law & Scott Probert, who will hoping to field a strong challenge in front of the large crowd at the Cwmythig Hill circuit and hoping to earn some of the big prize fund on offer.
Also planning to make the trip to Wales are British Championship leader Brad Anderson and Mark Jones.
Club members have been busy improving the spectacular circuit, which includes a downhill ski-jump, wall of death berm and the infamous 65ft finish line table top jump as well as a ‘whoop de do' section.
With practice at 5.45pm and the first race at 6.45pm, it should be a slickly run 11-race programme – three races per group for Expert, Senior/ Junior and Novice/ Local Beginner classes, with Grand Final ‘Dash for Cash' races at the end of the evening for the top 125/250F and Open Expert classes on the night.
Be there or you'll miss the excellent lamb-burgers...
