First race, first victory! Graham Jarvis dominated the recent Extreme Enduro race at Lagares, Portugal, aboard his Husaberg TE300.

Only a month after ‘Grimbo' first started riding his new mount it was time for him to find out how he could perform on it in racing conditions.

On arrival in Portugal, his team were a bit worried first because, although called ‘Extreme', the track and especially the prologue looked a bit too ‘easy' and fast for Graham to shine with his technical skills.

Come race day all worries where blown away immediately as Graham showed some incredible speed in the Prologue, finishing second to WEC regular and multi-time Portuguese Enduro champion, Goncalo Reis, and in front of Chris Birch and Xavi Galindo. The latter was also making his debut aboard the Husaberg TE 300 after being sidelined for several months due to injury.

In the main race the riders had to complete two of 20-kilometers laps including some really technical terrain including river beds in the early stages followed by more easy flowing trails in the second half.

Each lap featured three checkpoints and Graham already was in the lead by ten-minutes at CP1, with Birch in second. The Brit kept his advantage throughout the first lap and managed to extend his lead dramatically to more than 40-minutes through the more technical sections on lap two. Going towards the finish of lap 2 he even took his time to stop and help some amateur riders, who were still on their first lap – true British gentleman.

In the end Graham finished the two laps in a time of just under three-hours and by a winning margin of 33-minutes over 2010 Red Bull Romaniacs winner, Birch.

"It was a great race for me. I was realy curious as to how I'd go on my new bike, and it was awesome,” Graham commented after the race. "The bike is strong, light and so easy to ride. I felt really comfortable on it.”

After his impressive performance, Graham and his team was off back to Italy for some more intensive training for the upcoming World Indoor Enduro Cup, which kicks off on November 27 in Genoa, Italy.
