Kane gets a Mann award

WORLD championship chaser, Natalie Kane (pictured) , is the first female to be honoured with the annual Bertie Mann Award, which acknowledges outstanding performances from competitors under 21-years of age.

Nominated by the Knock club, 18-year-old Natalie from Loughbrickland is the British Ladies Motocross Champion and at world level she finished third overall.
Next season she will be part of Roger Magee's HM Plant Red Bull KTM team with the world title as her prime goal.

"This is a timely boost for Natalie,” said Magee. "I know that she is looking forward to next year with the world title as her main goal.”
"At the moment she is based in the south of England and training regularly in the company of Jake Nicholls at Felixstowe.”

The coveted ‘Mann' award introduced 35-years-ago in recognition of a great all-rounder attracted an encouraging eight nominations from tarmac and motocross this year.
However, the judges were unanimous in their choice of Natalie who will receive the Bertie Mann Rosebowl and a cash award.

Previous winners have included tarmac specialists like Lee Johnston, BJ Toal, Jonathan Rea and the Laverty brothers – Eugene and Michael – along with off-roaders Wayne Garrett, Philip McCullough and Gordon Crockard.
