Rising Estonian MX1 star, Gert Krestinov, has confirmed that for 2011 he will enter his second season in the UK as part of the Maxxis Henderson Kawasaki squad, the official Kawasaki Motors UK motocross team.
Riding a KX450F in both the Maxxis Championship and Red Bull Pro Nationals, the talented 20-year-old will also contest selected GPs to add to his international experience.
On the back of a season of hard work and strong improvement, Krestinov recently achieved his maiden win for Steve James' tightly knit outfit at the Wulfsport Masters Championship round at Hawkstone Park.
Joining prodigious Welsh talent, Connor Walkley, as the second rider to sign for the upcoming season, the team is now looking to secure the services of another high profile rider to compete in MX2.
Obviously delighted at retaining the much sought after Estonian, Steve James reflected on the ongoing commitment shown by Krestinov saying: "Gert was at the top of many team's wish list for 2011, and you can see why. He has set up camp at our race base to be closer to the action and inspires the whole team with his focus on improvement and race success.”
Race coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge commented: "The re-signing of Gert says as much about the rising stature of the LPE team and sponsor partners that Steve James has created as it does about Gert's strong affinity with Kawasaki machinery. With an initial year under their belts, Gert and the team are surely destined for even greater success in 2011.”
