Jack's the lad

The 2010 SPEA FIM World Trials Championship comes to a close this coming weekend with a visit to Kramolin in the Czech Republic.
And with Spaniards Toni Bou and Pol Tarres having already tied-up the World and Youth titles, the spotlight falls very much on the Juniors, where Britain's Beta-mounted Jack Challoner is very much in the race to nail the Championship.
At the moment, Jack stands six points clear of his arch-rival, Montesa-mounted Alfredo Gomez, and only Jack can stop a Spanish clean-sweep of titles.
The fly in the ointment is in the drop-scores method of calculation.
With the best nine results from 11 rounds to count, riders drop their two worst scores so basically it is all down to what happens on Sunday!
There's just 53 entries in total for the final round at Kramolin with 14 Championship, 26
Junior and 11 Youths pre-entered.
In the Championship, Bou is well clear at the top and is riding for pride and the win for his Repsol Montesa team but it is very tight for the runner-up berth. There's just two points
between Gas Gas pilot Adam Raga and Repsol Montesa's Takahisa Fujinami so plenty of pressure on those two.
Fourth and fifth is also to be decided between Albert Cabestany and on-form Jeroni Fajardo and with contract time approaching everyone wants to finish as high in the order as possible.
The battle of the Brits is for sixth and seventh with James Dabill having what looks like a comfortable 11-mark cushion over seven-times World Champ Dougie Lampkin.
The Gas Gas rider, who recently retained his British crown, will be hoping to break into the top five – just to show he will be a threat next year.
Doug meanwhile missed out on the Japanese double header while competing in
the Erzberg extreme enduro for Beta.
He is expected to carry-on for yet another World Trials season with the Italian manufacturer.
Fellow Brits Michael Brown and Alexz Wigg will be looking to finish the season with a flourish, also with an eye on next season.
In the Junior class Jonathan Richardson will join Jack Challoner along with James Fry and Becky Cook.
Youths will see Jo Coles backing-up Jack Sheppard as the girls get in some practise for the upcoming Trial des Nations where the British squad will start as hot favourites!
Can Jack Challoner nail that Junior title?
