Ladies are back

After a break of two months the ACU Womens & Girls Trials Championship series heads for the seaside and the Lincolnshire Wolds on Saturday and Sunday for the second and third events in the seven round series, writes Barry Robinson.
Dave Chilton and the Scarborough Motor Club team have laid out a 12-section, three-lap course at Low North Park .
Becky Cook will be looking to redress the balance after Louth girl Emma Bristow emerged as top female in the Scottish Six Days.
Cook held the ace card at the Ipstones opener in March.
The adults who ride the hard course are Becky, Emma, Katy Sunter, Donna Fox and Hannah Styles, plus Chloe Richardson as lone starter in Class A.
Danielle Whitham misses both days as she is playing footie in the England Ladies Under 19 team.
The 16-year old Silsden girl won Ipstones from Chloe Richardson. Nikita Smith was hot at Cheadle winning from Simone Wallis and Class C champion Victoria Payne.
Noticeable since Cheadle is that all the Yorkshire girls have been travelling out of Centre competing, and getting good results, so maybe Bristol cousins Victoria and Maisie will receive a shock.
Niamh Richardson is coming back from breaking a wrist, playing that dangerous game – football. Expect a taller and stronger Beth Waite to rise to challenge at both trials.
At the broad, bright, acres of Manton Quarries, 15 miles south of the Humber Bridge, Lincoln club officials David Chapman and Graham Swaby have three laps and a dozen sections on the agenda. Rock movements in the quarry have produced some new and fresh hazards.
Expect Harriet Shore to make the running from Caz Alford.
There's no sign of Doncaster accountant Nikki Wraight who was right behind Caz at Ipstones, but her trusty Scorpa was lifted by some light-fingered villain recently.
Time allowance on both days is five-and-a-half hours.
Refreshments will be available at both venues and start times are 10am Saturday and 11am Sunday.
