BYMX not quite Dun' yet!

Following a five week break the BYMX championship hits round three at Duns on the Scottish borders - and the, quest to find the nations premier youth riders resumes. The previous two rounds have seen the very best and the very worst that the British weather has to offer, but the racing has been red hot nontheless. Lets all keep our fingers crossed for fine conditions on May 14/15.

In the 65's ten year old Manxman Jed Etchells claimed the series lead at Finningley, as the previous number one, Scotland's Alexander Brown suffered a weekend of mixed fortunes. Their personal battle is high on the list of ones to keep a very close eye on - as is the tussle amongst the chasers led by third placed Harry Kimber on the Twisted Seven Kawasaki.

Harry Wichman is the only other guy apart from Brown or Etchells to claim a heat win so far this year. Wichman is currently just two points adrift of third placed Kimber but alas will be missing from round three with a broken hand. Colin Scott and Callum Meara sit in positions five and six respectively.

In the Small Wheel 85cc section it just couldn't possibly be any closer with Jay Hague and Conrad Mewse locked together on 94 points each at the very top. They have so far won one round each with Jay proving to be the outstanding surprise package of the season so far, but fully deserving his top billing. In positions three four and five it's very much the same story of ultra closeness with just a single point separating third placed Jordan Eccles from Twisted Seven's David Keet in fourth. Sid Evans is just another single point behind in fifth.  Come Sunday evening this particular section could well see major positional shifts.

The Big Wheel 85cc division has been the hardest to call so far this championship with no less than five different heat winners from the ten races run. Tom Neal, Liam Knight, Jack Gardner, Rob Davidson and Brad Todd are the famous five carding chequered flag success thus far. Leading the way in the championship stakes however there is another tied situation as Tom Neal and Liam Knight have both accumulated 88 point scores. Jack Gardner hauled himself back into the championship race in South Yorkshire following a disastrous opening weekend at Brampton and he will be surely looking for further improvements. He is currently in third place some 12 points behind the leading pair. Just four points separate the next four riders in the  table and it's definitely all to play for with Brad Todd, Rob Davidson, Nathan Dixon and Jason Meara occupying positions four - seven.

The youth Open section has also seen a variety of different race winners - sadly however one of them namely Bradley Pocock will not be featuring at round three. Heartfelt commiserations from all at BYMX go to Brad following his serious accident at MXY2 Lyng. As a result Brad will be out for the rest of the season and the championship has lost one of its real entertainers. Nathan Watson currently sits proudly at the top of the somewhat stretched  points standings, thats following his winning show of impressive race craft at round two Finningley. Watson is 12 clear of Jamie McCanney with Ryan Houghton in third, 21 points off top spot. In fourth possibly the youngest in the division, Adam Sterry on the Evo Tech Honda has proved to be fast gating and ultra consistent. Looking a little further down the table Jordan Divall the other Evo Tech pilot along with Mark Perfect and Jake Millward have all featured prominently so far - and will all be looking to improve on their current situations.
