LaMay signs for Samsung Yamaha

FINISHING in eighth place overall in the MX1 class carding a 10-6 finish at the final Maxxis round down at Landrake in September, Ben LaMay caught the eye of watching Roy Emberson who was so impressed he swiftly signed the youngster up to fly the flag for the Samsung Yamaha concern in next year's British Nationals.

The 2010 championship itinery for Ben will focus on competing in the Maxxis MX1 Championship and Red Bull Pro Nationals aboard a YZ450F and the Under 21's aboard a YZ250F.

Eighteen year old Ben from Anchorage, Alaska will be staying with Richard Clarke over the winter months and with Stourbridge as his temporary base he will be seeing quite a lot of the Wilden lane and Polesworth circuits on race days together with the Apex and Wildmoor training facilities midweek. There is also the possibility of Ben and Richard Clarke setting up a few training days. Keep your eyes peeled on the Wilden website for news of that one.

On his Samsung Yamaha debut performance at Wilden on Sunday Ben posted three untroubled race victories, just loving the fast flowing sandy circuit and he will be looking forward to going head to head with the likes of Ray Rowson and Scott Probert in the coming weeks in WMXC events.

Ben is really excited about his opportunity for 2010 and with a brace of new machines expected to arrive in the next few weeks, he would like to thank- Fly Racing, Scott, Etnies, Ogio, RG3 Suspension, Hammerhead, Dunlop, DRD exhaust, 814 Designs and Mike at Rock River Yamaha.
