Round one of the QRA ACU British Quad XC Championship takes place at Langrove, Herefordshire this Sunday, April 25. All classes are still open to riders who wish to ride in the full championship or just select a round or two.

British number one Paul Winrow will be going all out to defend his title this year on his new KTM while Jason Wildman, David Baldwin, Martin Benbow, Justin Reid and Co will certainly have other ideas. Irishman Jonny McKnight is also looking forward to stepping up to the Pro Class for the first time.

Top UK female racer Beverley Barnes was promoted to the Expert class for this season and she will be out to prove a few points as well as score some against the likes of father and son Ant and Sam Barrett. The far-travelling Irish riders in the Expert class all hoping to make the journey across the Irish sea fruitful include Ashley McConnell, Val Bell and Paul Harkness.

The Club class sees another fast lass in the form of Ameelie Miller making her début in the championship, while reigning 4x4 Champ Jon Morgan looks set to defend his title against Simon Lang and Co on the big grippers.

The Rookie Class is where the new names will be making their debuts, and some will be the stars of tomorrow and others will be the very backbone of the sport – the troopers who do it it just for the pure fun of it. And good on ‘em. By the end of this first round on Sunday we will have a better idea of who is who.

The start is set for 11am and support riders are still welcome to enter for three hours of racing fun.
