Following the serious knee ligament damage he sustained at the Liverpool Supercross round back in February, Portsmouth youngster Liam Garland thought his 2010 season was all but over.

However with the aid of a special knee brace the year actually got turned around in quite spectacular fashion. Garland won the BSMA Big-wheel Championship with 23 race wins from 25 starts, finished third in the Red Bull series despite missing a round, and recorded a very creditable fifth place finish in the BYMX counterpart competition. However the biggest highlight of the year was being signed up by Steve Turner for his Proppa.Com Honda squad mid season. The extra boost propelled Liam to his best performances of the year and has also helped shape his plans for next season.

Just two weeks ago Garland ended his Big-wheel racing days at the ACU Team Event - and the next big step up comes in 2011 with a full Maxxis 250F debut ride.

Garland's 15th birthday is just around the corner, and he's about to sign on again for the Proppa.Com team and become a teammate of Nez Parker and the recently signed Martin Barr - but this time around on KTM's. Liam will be the youngest rider in the 2011 Maxxis MX2 class and also be on the start line for the Red Bull rookies.

Liam would like to say a big thank you to all those people who have made this year a success.
