MARSHFIELD, near Bristol, is the destination to be at this weekend, in more ways than one, for round seven of the increasingly successful DEP Two-stroke British Championship. After weeks of exciting two-stroke racing, the action swings into aMarshfield track that has seen a month's solid work put into it toensure that it is in tip-top condition and a real challenge to theriders.
Current 250cc class championship leader, Mark Eastwood, will be lookingto make amends for what was, by his standards, a below par performanceat the previous round at Cusses Gorse, and get back to winning ways, but he may have his work cut out as local boy Mark Hucklebridge willparticipate in the championship for the first time this year and theKawasaki man will be looking to make his mark in winning fashion.
Add the likes of David Willet, Stuart Flockhart and Cusses Gorsevictor, Ryan Voase, into the fold and the racing is looking veryexciting indeed.
In the 125 championship, current leader David Willet is still on hisquest to win both classes on the same day - will Marshfield be thesetting? - but after managing only fourth overall at the Cusses Gorseprevious round, his main concern will be getting back to the top stepof the podium and maintain that championship lead.
Cusses victor Stuart Edmonds will be on a high after his exploits lasttime out and will be a tough prospect to beat again, and with the likesof Jim Davies, Jack Brunel, Jonathan Pettitt and local rider MattRidgway all doing their bit to stop Willet from inching closer to theDEP 125 crown also, another superb battle for supremacy is on the cards.
In the Junior 125cc class, George Winn, Adam Reynolds, Lee Holland, SamHollaway and Sean Stevens are the riders to look out for in the questfor championship honours, while in the 250cc Junior class, RickyLethaby, Ashley Harland, Ken Fuller, Alex Smith and another Bristolfavourite, Eddy Carr, will be out to show the anticipated large crowdan exciting days racing.
Now for the second part of this weekend's DEP championship round at Marshfield - and something completely different.
MTV will be there filming TV star and renowned wearer of littleclothing, Jodie Marsh, for her new MTV show Totally Jodie Marsh', areality show based around Jodie's quest to find a new husband.
The MTV crew will be at the event all weekend on the hunt for willingand suitable candidates for the role of Jodie's other half. Will shefind one at round
seven of the DEP two-stroke championship, who knows?
But, whatever happens, it sounds like a lot of fun as Jodie is alsomaking a personal appearance as the 15-second board girl, as well asdancing the night away at Saturday night's party which will be hostedin a huge marquee at the circuit.

Admission for the event on Sunday is 10 and children Under 16 go FREE.
