LPE make Jonathon's day

KAWASAKI UK's official motocross team, LPE Kawasaki, decamped to the famous seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare recently for the 27th annual Weston Beach Race.
The team's two top riders were entered for the main solo race, which was eventually abandoned due to the medical emergency that involved several riders. The team's riders were unscathed in the incident.
An hour later, the event was declared cancelled due to lack of medical cover.
Regardless of the unfortunate incident, LPE Kawasaki made one special person's day. The Make-A-Wish Foundation' brought Jonathon Foote, a sufferer of Ewing's Sarcoma, and his family, to Weston at the invitation of event promoter, Gareth Hockey.
Team-owner Steve James was on hand to present Jonathon with a brand-new Kawasaki KX85 motocross bike, while team riders Elliott Banks-Browne and Kristian Whatley gave Jonathon signed gear.
Gareth (Hockey) approached us to assist with the presentation of a new Kawasaki and a set of kit for Jonathon, and we were happy to be involved. It was a pleasure to contribute in a way to such a good cause,'' explained Steve James.
Kristian and Elliott donated signed items of their kit and chatted to Jonathon and his family afterwards. We are just happy to have been able to help in some way and to see the smile on Jonathon's face made everything so worthwhile.
Hats off to Gareth for setting everything up, and Ian Wheeler, his press officer, for coordinating everything on such a busy day and both still managed to make time for a young lad and giving him something he will always remember.''
LPE Kawasaki wishes all riders who were involved in the beach crash a speedy recovery.
