THE American Supercross series is all set to take-off and Feld Motor Sports will kick off the 2010 Monster Energy Supercross season with its traditional opener in the Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on January 9.

This year's championship is highly anticipated and is all set to see one of the best title battles ever.

Defending champion, James Stewart, mounted on the awesome reverse-cylinder 2010 factory Yamaha, will be aiming to hold-off the charges from rival Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto, who won the season finale in Las Vegas last May.

The opener is then followed up by a further 15 rounds, before concluding on May 8 at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium.

Former champion, Reed, who looked like he wouldn't even have a ride for 2010, has been snapped-up by Monster Kawasaki, has already won the Australian Supercross series in recent weeks, and forms a fantastic twin-pronged attack with the super talented Villopoto on their green 450Fs. And if that isn't enough, Ryan Dungey moves up from the Lites class to the big 450 Suzuki to take on the established giants of the premier class. Stir in the likes of Kevin Windham, Davy Millsaps, Josh Grant and Ivan Tedesco and there is a guarantee of a great series.
