THE countdown to the Scottish Six Days Trial is well underway and no one is more prepared for the famous event than British Montesa importers, James Sandiford Motorcycles.
Montesa have a staggering 76 bikes in the current entry list, withthis tally set to rise as more riders make the switch to the onlyproven four-stroke in this gruelling competition, ahead of the Maydateline.
The highly popular, and often humorous Spanish ex-SSDT winner AmosBilbao will once again spearhead the Montesa attack, but the once Worldchampionship contender is sure to come under pressure from currentEuropean champion James Dabill. The youngster from Leeds has gone fromstrength to strength since shifting to the Cota 4RT at the start of theyear.
The cast of other Montesa-mounted riders includes ex-World championTommi Ahvala, ten times US champion Geoff Aaron, Ladies multi Worldchampion Laia Sanz, plus the usual array of SSDT regulars such as AndyHuddleston, Boyd Webster and Harry Lampkin.
In addition to providing back-up to their team riders, Sandifordwill be offering a full service and hospitality facility to all Montesariders. This will be based out of the fabulous Italian TRW Montesaartic truck complete with massive awning. This will incorporate a workarea plus a covered rest area, where sandwiches and hot / cold drinkswill be served at the end of each day.
