Nationals on the move

The British Youth Nationals Champs heads to the Wooley Grange motocross track at Crook, near Durham this weekend, for the third round of what is proving to be a tightly contested championship in all classes.
"Wooley Grange is a fantastic track for the British Youth Nationals,” said Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities.
"It's a very technical and demanding layout, with a tight and twisty element that then opens up into a fast and flowing section with a variety of jumps and obstacles to negotiate.
"Mastering the track will be a challenge for the riders in every class, which should ensure we have the same close and exciting racing that made the opening two rounds of the championship so appealing to riders and spectators alike.”
In the Open Championship it was James Harrison on the RFX Lanes Kawasaki who took the overall win last time out at Salters Lane, winning all but one race at the Lincolnshire track.
The win moved Harrison up to third in the championship behind Liam Garland and Dan Thornhill, with the top five now separated by just 72 points.
Todd Kellett still leads the way in the BW85 Championship, but the gap at the top of the standings was reduced to just 13 points after Josh Gilbert dominated at Salters Lane, winning every race aboard his Buildbase Honda to claim overall victory.
Gilbert also took overall victory in the Honda Xtreme Academy competition.
Albie Wilkie was the stand-out rider in the 85SW class at Salters Lane, taking victory in four of the six races aboard his Evo Tech Honda, to claim the overall win from the other race winners that weekend, Taylor Hamal and Keenan Hird.
But it is Hamal who remains at the top of the championship standings, a situation that Wilkie and Hird will be looking to address this weekend at Wooley Grange.
The 65cc Junior Championship was a closely fought affair at Salters Lane, with Tom Grimshaw and Christopher Mills both claiming three wins.
It was Grimshaw who took the overall, courtesy of an additional second place, but Mills still leads the championship by 21 points.
The Auto Class was so closely contested at Salters Lane that two riders, Charlie Heyman and Jack Grayshon ended up tied for the overall, Heyman eventually getting the nod.
But it is Louie Kessell who still leads the way in the championship, with just 54 points separating the top five riders.
