Oranges and Scorpas...

SCORPA was exhibiting at the recent Milan Motorcycle Show where the re-invented French factory, now back in the capable hands of the marque's original owner Marc Tessier, launched a blizzard of new 2010 models. And in order to herald a new dawn for Scorpa a striking new orange colour scheme has been implemented to catch the eye.
The 2010 Scorpa range will now be spearheaded by a pair of all-new two-stroke models designated SR125R and SR280R. The engine, it says Scorpa on the cases, sports dual-stage ignition and replaces the old Yamaha TY motor and the whole bike is basically new as the frame has had to be re-jigged to best accommodate the new unit. The exhaust has now switched sides and features a re-packable rear silencer. Gone is the old bulbous centre section necessary for the Yam engine and it's been replaced with the much neater and lighter unit. A new airbox sits under the seat and an all-new, although just as shapely, fuel tank now holds almost three litres of gas. As British importer Nigel Birkett says, everything is new apart from the swinging arm. This gives Scorpa a competitive 125 for the very first time and will open up the Youth market for the rejuvenated French manufacturer. The 280 model is virtually identical to the 125.
