CASTLE Colchester now has plans well underway for their Phil King East Anglian National Trial which once again kicks off the Traditional Trials championship.
Assistant Clerk of the Course Jim Cammack has already been stomping about in the Essex country side and is looking to build on last year's event with a 20 mile, 40 section lap which includes both on and off-road riding. There is a massive amount of work involved with no fewer than16 different land owners and marking out involves closing footpaths with the consent of the local council and much more, the list is endless.
As stated, this trial represents the first round of the popular 12 round 2010 ACU Normandale Traditional Trials Champs, formerly the Classic Championships, and there's sure to be a big entry from those wanting to get their championship season off to a flying start. The start will once again take place at Cammacks Haulage Yard, White Colne, Essex.
The date for the Phil King National is Sunday, February 7, with entries closing on January 25. All past competitors will have received an entry form in the post but new entries - and if you are thinking of trying this event for the first time, think no more, you'll enjoy it, and should contact Richard Norman on 07841-493135. Offers to observe please to Richard at the above number.
And T+MX will of course bring you a full report and pics straight after the event!
