KTM rider Aaron Poolman will miss this years International Six Days Enduro, where hed been selected to represent Great Britain in the Trophy Team.

Aaron suffered a mid-shaft fracture of his right femur, sustained at the final round of the Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship.

Parting company with his bike during the sighting lap at the final round of the BSEC series Poolman was taken by air ambulance to Shrewsbury hospital where on Monday he underwent surgery to have a rod inserted in his leg. All went well and as T+MX went to print Aaron was hopeful of being transferred nearer to home.

‘He's absolutely gutted, but the main thing is that the operation went well and he's now on the mend,” commented Aaron's dad Barry on Monday. "Aaron was so looking forward to riding in Finland but these things can happen.”

With Aaron likely to be out of action for at least three months while his injuries heal British Team Manager Dusty Martin has had to re-shuffle his Trophy and Junior Trophy teams for the Finnish event in August. Ashley Wood, who had originally been selected to ride in the Junior Trophy Team will now move up into the Trophy Team where he will race alongside Paul Edmondson, Jordan Rose, Si Wakely, Tom Sagar and Greg Evans.

Jack Rowland will be brought into the Junior Trophy team to replace Wood where he will compete alongside Danny McCanney, Alex Rockwell and Jonny Walker.

All four riders will be making their ISDE debut, but with all four delivering impressive results at present the four-man team is one of the strongest sent for many years.
