RBPN opener on hold

The opening round of this years Red Bull Pro Nationals scheduled to run this weekend, April 28/29, at Landrake Moto Parc in Cornwall has been postponed and will now run a fortnight later than planned on the weekend May 12/13, at the same venue.
The Pro Nationals is a high profile victim of the recent abnormal weather hitting Britain.
With heavy rain falling in the South West and even more forecast for the rest of this week, series promoter Matt Bates of Events 22 has been forced to make the unenviable decision.
"I'm gutted, absolutely gutted,” said Matt.
"But we can't take the chance that spectators and riders turn up and be greeted by a mud-bath.
"That way everyone loses – the riders, the fans, the sport.
"It's a tough call to make, but we postponed our opening round at Landrake a couple of years ago due to the weather and the decision was vindicated then, so I'm confident I'm making the right call this time around.
"The irony is that while heavy rain may very well leave the track in perfect condition for racing, the infrastructure of Landrake simply won't hold up to it and we'll be reduced to towing everyone in and out and that's just unacceptable.”
Everyone who's purchased advanced tickets will be contacted and offered either a full refund or the chance to transfer their tickets to the new date.
All riders have been contacted and are advised to contact Claire Ajimi in the MCF office on 01235-750740, should they wish to transfer their entry.
