LAST weekend the opening race of the Dutch Sidecar-cross season took place at the Reusel track close to the Belgian border. The British pairings of Paul Pelling/ Dan Chamberlain and Richard Jenkins/ Pete Girling contested the International class, which boasted a full line up of crews, many of which were GP runners.

Pelling was returning to racing after a serious knee injury put him out for most of last year, and a foot injury had ruined the previous season. However, he has been putting in a lot of bike time over the winter, using sidecar enduros to get his knee back up to full strength. Chamberlain was standing in for Pelling's regular passenger Colin Dunkley.

Richard Jenkins was on his first outing with new passenger Pete Girling and both were keen to get in some bike time together before the British Sidecar series gets under way at the end of March.

The picture shows Paul Pelling and Dan Chamberlain who finished third overall.
