THE Edinburgh and DMC committee responsible for running the Silver Jubilee Pre-65 Scottish Two Day Trial, 2009, which will take place on Friday/ Saturday, May 1/2, is very pleased to announce that Serco have been accepted as the main sponsor for this prestigious event. As many of you will know already, Serco supplies many quality spare parts for Pre-65 bikes and as they are involved in the Pre-65 scene they make an ideal main sponsor. This is a very welcome situation for the committee who can now concentrate on making the Silver Jubilee Trial the best yet! A reminder to all riders who wish to enter the 2009 event and have not already done so, the closing date is fast approaching so don't delay. Entries need to be on a 2009 entry form as there have been changes made from previous years and they need to be with the Secretary by the closing date of Friday, December 12 if you wish your entry to be included in the ballot! No late or incorrect entries will be accepted. Entries are already oversubscribed and are currently standing at over 250 so a ballot will definitely take place. But if you aren't in you won't win!
Entry forms are available on www.ssdt.org. They can also be obtained by writing to Mrs Anne Gordon, Secretary Pre'65 Scottish Trial, Fairshiels, Blackshiels, Pathhead, Midlothian, EH37 5SX or if you wish you can email anne@fairshiels.fsnet.co.uk to request one to be posted to you. Please note that the entry fee or stamped addressed envelope should NOT be sent with the entry.
New Clerk of the Course, Bill Emmerson, has confirmed that the route for the 2009 trial has been agreed, which includes a modified route to eliminate two-way traffic on the Mamore Road and that the class for rigid machines will be split into under 250cc and 251cc and over.
