AFTER the cancellation of the Sherco Weekend in 2007, due to the foot and mouth outbreak, Malcolm Rathmell Sport is pleased to announce that they are now full steam ahead this year with this super-popular event. The Sherco Weekend Extravaganza will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 1/2 with the venue being Hook Woods, West Horsley, Surrey. As well as all the top UK trials dealers, the Sherco Export Manager, Arnau Viradell, will also be there to answer any questions and join in the fun.
As usual, MRS will have all of their trials team in attendance throughout the day and, as Hook Woods lends itself perfect for demos, it should be quite an exhibition. All models will be available for testing and if the past years are anything to go by there should be somewhere in the range of 18-20 bikes of all models on test, so everyone is assured of a ride.
Once night-time arrives, the Extravaganza will come into its own with a buffet for all the dealers, riders and sponsors followed by a trials quiz and presentation of the team and dealers. Master of Ceremonies, the one-and-only ‘Killer' Kendrew, is bound to have a few surprises up his sleeve throughout the night. Venue for this prestigious event will be the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, East Horsley, Surrey. Anyone wishing to book a room can do so by ringing them direct on 01483-280509, quoting the reference number MALC 021107.
Super-talented MRS Sherco rider, Katy Bullock, will be performing the cabaret this year and for anyone who hasn't heard Katy sing we can assure you her singing is even better than her riding! After hearing the delights of Katy's sweet singing, the rest of the night will be on a decline with the karaoke traditionally led by the MRS Trials Team singing ‘We Are The Champions.' Lets hope there are some!
Anyone coming to the test day is welcome to come along to the hotel and once the presentations have been completed they can join the party! There is a restaurant and bar on site and the hotel is large enough to accommodate any extra strays.
On Sunday, November 2, there will be a trial at Hook Woods, run by the Surrey Schoolboy Trials Club. This event is a TVTC Group Trial which will cater for all classes from Beginners through to Novice, Inter and Experts. Overnight camping will be available at a charge of £5.
It will be possible to enter the event on the day but to be sure of a ride you will be able to download the regs very soon at www.surreysb.co.uk.
