FROM an average start Paul Winrow, out-paced his rivals in the the Pro class to take the lead on lap four and win round two of the QRA British Quad Endurance championship at the weekend. Tony and Gaynor Nash, plus a small bunch of dedicated QRA members, laid out a track which took just over ten-minutes for the Pro riders to circulate at the three-hour event staged at Wadwick Farm, near Egbury, just up the road from Andover.

The weather was great with blue skies and hot sunshine – well, that was on Saturday, when the competitors arrived – but race day was wet, very wet!
However, the track stood up well to the night-time down-pour with dust even making an appearance in the more sheltered parts late in the race on Sunday.
David Baldwin got the holeshot as the Pro class slid and slewed their way round the first four or five turns that were laid out in an open field, with Chris Cooper in his wheel tracks
Andrew Davies followed the two leaders as they disappeared into the wooded section which divided two fields.
Series leader, Winrow, was midfield, while last year's champion, Steve Atkins, was at the back of the field after doing a 360-degree spin into the first turn and colliding with several other riders.
Paul Hannam led the Expert class round the first lap with Ashley McConnall and Richard Bradford chasing after him.
With five-laps gone and almost an hour into the event, Winrow was in the lead ahead of Davis, while Atkins was slowly making his way to the front. Meanwhile Beverley Barnes was leading the Expert class.
